Robot state of the art: Wind turbine blade repair

Thousands of wind turbine needs to have the blades repaired in the next few years. Historically this task has been done by humans 70 meter up in the air, with harmful chemicals and several kilometres to the closes shore. The task is challenging to automate as no two damages are the same, the repair process is complex, and the repair area are vibrating 30-50 cm. Rope Robotics have made a robot platform that overcomes these obstacles and thereby improve safety and reducing cost.
