R-22 drew visitors from all over the world to Odense

25-03-2022

Several thousand visitors, including international delegations, stopped by R-22 at Odense Congress Center the past three days to experience first-hand prime examples of Danish robotics and drone technologies.

When people think of robots, they think of Denmark. This became very clear at R-22, the biggest robotics fair in the Nordics, which took place in Odense from Wednesday to Friday.

5.159 visitors from both Denmark and abroad came to Odense Congress Center to be properly introduced to Danish solutions within robotics and drones. The foreign visitors included delegations from Germany, Norway and Finland, just as BBC had sent one of their correspondents to Odense to cover the booming Danish robotics industry.

“Universal Robots has been part of R-22 because it is the most significant fair in the Nordics in 2022. The equipment and accessibility you see here is really important, because the visitors can touch, feel, see and approach the people, who are exhibiting, which is a huge benefit for the fair.

We are happy to have such a magnificent number of robots present in here and hopefully, in 2024, there will be even more than we have this year. So, R-22 is an important fair for Universal Robots and of course we need to be here,” says Michael Hjertebjerg, Regional President, Universal Robots.

Impressive turnout
During the three days of exhibition, the +100 exhibitors showcased a wide array of solutions and technologies – including the world’s first seeding and weeding robot, a mega drone with a payload of 200 kilos and not to mention a 3D-printning robot, which can print houses in concrete.

This year’s event was the first of its kind in the new format. Business Unit Manager at OCC, Katarina Fruerlund Deylami, is therefore very pleased with the fact that R-22 hit a total of 5.159 visitors during the three days.

See you in 2024
“We are very satisfied with the number of visitors. Especially when considering that we are still a young fair, and that we are still only emerging gradually from a global pandemic, which has made it virtually impossible to arrange physical fairs for two years,” says Katarina Fruerlund Deylami, adding:

“One thing, however, is the turnout. Another key factor is the atmosphere. And we have gotten lots of positive feedback from exhibitors and guests, who have really enjoyed R-22 and are looking forward to R-24.”

The robotics fair at Odense Congress Center will return 13th – 15th of March 2024.
